Friends

This guy's walking down the street when he falls in a hole. The walls are so steep that he can't get out. A doctor walks by and he shouts out, "Hey you, can you help me out?" The doctor writes out a prescription, throws it down the hole and moves on. Then a priest comes along and he shouts, "Father, I'm down in this hole. Can you help me out?" The priest writes out a prayer, throws it down in the hole and moves on. Then a friend walks by. "Hey Joe, it's me, can you help me out?" and the friend jumps in the hole. Our guy says, "Are you stupid? Now we're both down here." The friend says, "Yeah, but I've been down here before and I know the way out."

Jobs Jobs Jobs

So second year of law school is all about finding jobs. We go through something called "Oh-See-Eye" (as suasponte puts it) where potential employers come to campus and do screening interviews, and if they like you, they invite you for a second interview. After the second interview, you find out if they like you enough to give you a job... needless to say, the past four weeks, I've been taking interviews and getting lots of rejection letters. However, the past week, I've gotten some good news.

Among the good news is that I got a second interview with the SEC... Yeah! I might get the chance to go after Enron like people... I think I would love that job.... of course, the only thing is... it will be in Washington, D.C. this summer (I probably could work in the SF Branch if they offer me a permanent job *I hope*)...

there is also another possibility as I also got a second interview with a law firm, which I shall leave unnamed... I'm not so sure I would like that job as much, even if it pays significantly more (I might have to take it if I have to fork out as much money as POC did for his vacuum cleaner! =P)... the work will prbably be equally challenging with more stress at the law firm.. but I think I'll get a sense of really contributing to society by working for the SEC (I mean, come on, who wouldn't want to go after the bad guys?)

Anyhow, this whole line of thought could be moot if I don't get either job offer.... so I best prepare for them! Wish me luck (both are coming up soon!)!
