In the movie "The American President", clearly one of my favorite movies, the main character, the President says this about American citizenship: "America isn't easy. America is advanced citizenship. You've got to want it bad, because it's going to put up a fight." Sometimes I feel that our faith is the same way sort of... it's advanced citizenship (hear me out, I'm going somewhere with this), God has chosen you, He has called you, and you've got to want it bad because although it may not put up a fight, others will put up a fight against it. Just when you think you get it, you in all your knowledge think that you finally have reached a pinnacle in your understanding of God and in your life, He breaks you down and molds you again. When you think you have seen it all, God reveals something more that astounds you. When you think you can answer skeptics' questions about your faith, someone asks you a question that you do not know the answer for. When you think you've been stretched to the limit, He asks for something more and gives you the strength to do it. When you have been wronged, you forgive and forget. This faith isn't easy. It's advanced discipleship and you've got to want it bad.
