I've come to appreciate how incredibly expensive weddings are as I finally sat down last night to put together a wedding budget. It seems impossible to have a wedding budgeted to be under $30,000 when you have 350 guests. If anyone has any ideas how to plan a low budget wedding (besides scheduling it in the off-season since we have already set a date in the peak season), please comment away!

well, instead of lowering your expenses, just create some income, i.e. holding a banquet in Asia (HK/Taiwan/China). With red-envelops coming in at $50+ per guest and banquet costing about $15-20 per person, I am surprised people don't marry more often here.
Only works if you have a ton of guests in Asia; otherwise all your guests will have to pay for a plane flight to get there...
(note to self: need to have 2nd reception in Hong Kong haha)
